Living Fairy – Fairy Witchcraft and Star Worship

£10.00

Living Fairy is a book about Morgan Daimler’s lived experiences with the fair folk, tips on how to further engage with them and their theories on how the fair folk link to the stars. It’s a little different to their other books, with a bigger focus on UPG.

Living Fairy is a skinny book of two halves- the first is an exploration on how to deepen the connection to the fair folk and how restore the fabric of the old world around you. The fair folk are often put to one side in life today- banished to the outskirts of landscape and mind- but this book encourages you to root them in your current world and experiences. To have a daily, experiential practice that approaches the fair folk as allies as opposed to things to be controlled by our own whims. It also talks about the authors personal experience with the fair folk, and how they’ve linked their own experiences to those of people within the Indigenous Fairy Faith, past and present. You’ll see notes on historical ‘circle casting’ and it’s predecessors in the Native Fairy Faith, there’s a chapter on dreams and how they’re important in this path. The author gives examples from their own dreams- giving key insight for those walking this road. The second half explores the much-hidden links of the fair folk to the cycle of the Pleiades. It’s a rough starting point within her own research, unfolding theories and understandings to the reader in real time. It’s an exploration of Morgan’s own UPG, verified where possible by historical links.

It is an utterly personal journey that hopefully many walking the same path will relate to.

Why we love it

Unlike other books on the fair folk and the stars, which are often deeply appropriative and not at all sourced from living traditions- Morgan is accepted in the Indigenous Fairy Faith community and with the historical base and cultural understanding to back it up. Although this book focuses on a blended neo-pagan path with older lore, it is still a good book for everybody interested in the fair folk and their possible links to the stars. This book may come in useful for those who already work with other systems that use the stars- many older religions and festivals use the stars, so this would run alongside them with ease. The chapters on dreams and fairy sickness are excellent. A good thought provoking book for inspiration.
