Labradorite is a type of feldspar, and part of the moonstone and larvikite family. (sometimes known by the name Labrador spar, or black moonstone)

Labradorite has been used in the UK since Neolithic times- famously being found in pottery shards in the Bay of Firth.

Labradorite is a crystal connected to the stars and the other worlds.

It’s a fantastic crystal used by world walkers and seers to aid them on their journeys. It forms bridges or roads- like the ones it forms between worlds and can connect two things or concepts together. Labradorite is great to work with in order to walk to other worlds- either for the purposes of travelling there, or to go and retrieve information from the other worlds.

In Europe, this stone is connected to the passages between worlds, the northern lights, but also the stars and the realms of the heavenly gods. It’s useful to work with when connecting to the stars and planets. Labradorite is also a useful negotiator stone to use with spirit working. Labradorite spirits are an excellent go-between when drafting contracts and negotiations between spirits and oneself.

They are sometimes found in meteorite remnants- meteorites themselves being a bridge between the earth and the sky. It’s not clear if this is the origin of the above collected folklore, or through the folklore of the Northern Lights from Scotland, perhaps brought over with Viking Invasions.

Ways of Working

Crystals are excellent to use within spell workings- they’re spirits to be worked with as much as any candle or herb! They can be placed into a spell box, charged and buried, crafted into devotional items, used within wisht boards and sigil work and so much more!  They can be left in an area of the home to be constantly worked with as a permanent companion, or simply moved to the altar when you want to do focused workings.
