Who is St.Michael in UK folkloric understanding?

St.Michael, angelic saint of the wild hunt, protector of the doorway and one of the Kings of the Fair Folk. St. Michael is honoured within British folklore for being a highly protective spirit, and one who acts as a psychopomp for the dead, and so thus a communicator for the ancestors. He’s seen as the fiery meteor that fell from the sky, aflame and righteous. He’s also a fierce warrior, as quick to attack as to defend. He is often seen as a God in many of the folkloric accounts, prayers and charms within the UK.

He is sometimes seen as the heavenly half of the duality of the folkloric devil- and elsewhere in Europe, is seen as the other half of Lucifer or conflated with Apollo.
